Congratulations go to U-M researcher Jun Hee Lee for receiving the 2024 Hanseong Science Award in Life Sciences from the Hanseong Son Jae-Han Scholarship Foundation.
Dr. Lee received the award for his development of SeqScope, a revolutionary technology that allows comprehensive gene expression analysis within biological tissues using a single experiment. The Taubman Institute has supported Seq-Scope with a technology grant aimed at accelerating the development of new tools to advance the work of biomedical researchers.
The award is dubbed the “mini-Nobel” for Korean scientists with awards in Physics, Chemistry, and Life Sciences. The goal of the award and the foundation is to contribute to the growth of Korean science and hopefully help catalyze future Nobel prize winners from South Korea.
