Taubman Institute Scholar Johann Gudjonsson, MD, PhD, has been elected to the American Association of Physicians.
Dr. Gudjonsson is a dermatologist and leading researcher with a focus on autoimmune and inflammatory disorders affecting the skin. He was appointed as a Taubman Emerging Scholar in 2011, and as a Taubman Scholar in 2023.
Founded in 1885, the AAP is one of the most prominent networks of physicians in the world and has counted numerous Nobel Prize recipients amongst their members. The AAP works to advance the cause of science and provides mentorship, guidance and resources to assist new physician researchers in their work. Election to the AAP is an honor extended to physicians with outstanding credentials in basic or translational biomedical research.
